#SERVEMKE VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: ANDREW ROJAHN

This #ServeMKE volunteer has found a way to help STDs take over the internet. Andrew Rojahn has become our social media guru and has played a key role in educating tweens.

1. What are your main responsibilities as a Senior Account Executive, Social Media for BVK?

I oversee the social strategy for some of the accounts at BVK. That can include (though of course is not limited to) managing budgets, writing content, implementing ad campaigns, and developing social strategies.

2. How many years have you been a volunteer for Serve?

Just over a year now. Though it doesn’t always seem like it.

3.What has been your favorite project to work on as a volunteer with Serve?

I haven’t worked on too many projects, though most of what I’ve done has been on-going. I really enjoyed The Birds, Bees and STDs. Like all Serve work, it’s a noble cause – reducing STD rates for teens through education. But concepting images of a cartoon Chlamydia and Gonorrhea celebrating Mardi Gras has been one of the more interesting things I’ve had to come up with.

4. What’s the strangest thing you’ve been asked to create for a Serve campaign?

See above, but apply the image concepting to Valentine’s Day, Halloween, and just about every major holiday.

5. What do you like most about volunteering with Serve?

The work, because it doesn’t really feel like work. It’s just a lot of fun to talk about STDs in an office setting where not everyone is in the know.

6. What is your favorite charity/cause in Milwaukee?

It’s gotta be Pug Hugs Pug Rescue. Pugs are one of my favorite dog breeds. They, unfortunately, tend to have a lot of health problems and are often surrendered due to the cost of care. But animals have always been near and dear to me, so animal-related charities are probably 8 of my top 10.
